Magnus Carlsen. (One of the Best Chess Players of All Time) Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chess player who won the World Chess Championship in 2013, becoming the second youngest world chess champion at age 22. A chess prodigy, he had become a Grandmaster at the age of 13 in 2004, and was ranked world No. 1 in 2010 when he was just 19 years old.
#1 Garry Kasparov Garry Kasparov. Photo: David Monniaux, CC. GM Garry Kasparov is the 13th world champion and held the title from 1985 to 2000. He first reached the number-one ranking in 1984 and with a few minor exceptions remained the number-one player in the world until 2006. Kasparov dominated the chess world for over 20 years.
Kasparov, who is one of my favourite chess players, peak rating of 2851, [4] achieved in 1999, was the highest recorded until being surpassed by Magnus Carlsen in 2013. Kasparov also holds records for consecutive professional tournament victories (15) and Chess Oscars (11).

Magnus Carlsen, the best player in the world, decided against defending his title, and his successor, Ding Liren, seems to have decided against playing chess. Garry Kasparov formed a breakaway
If you take Kasparov's 20 years from 1985 to 2005, then count Magnus's 13 years from 2010 to 2023. Although Kasparov Lost WCC, Magnus hasn't Lost! And also talking about faster time controls, then Magnus has 10 Golds, 4 Silvers, 4 Bronzes approx. Kasparov had less bcoz Anand and Kramnik used to win a lot also, for ex- Anand won 11 Rapid titles.
